The Final Step!

My van build is finally coming to an end! I have been adventuring in Zatara, unfinished, for a couple years now, but the time has come for the final step in the build! I needed a cabinet built to house all of the components for my solar set up, and maybe even a little extra storage.

The only place for this cabinet to fit in the van was the space between the bed platform and the driverโ€™s seat. With less than 12in of clearance from the wall, so that the drawer would have room to still open, the configuration of the solar components was a tad bit tricky. There was only one way everything was going to fit.

Once the cabinet was built, we placed it into the van, and secured it to the floor. From there, we worked on installing the different parts of the solar system.

The 200W of solar power would control the MaxxAir fan, the lights installed in the ceiling boards, a USB port we added in the back for charging devices, and a 700W inverter.

With the rest of the cabinet, I created a space for a picnic basket that I found years ago from an antique store. This basket has gone on many camping trips and served as my pantry. I also added four baskets for extra storage. These have given me the perfect space to store pup dishes and toys, games, and other essentials. While all of the solar components are tightly squeezed in their space, the cabinet turned out perfect!
